Defensive Driving Course
For what is believed to be the first time in the Waimarino a Defensive Driving course is to be held next month. The course, which consists of four 2-hour sessions of films, lectures and discussion is scheduled to take place on consecutive Tuesdays during the month of September and into the first week of October. The course commences on Tuesday, 13 September and continues for the three following Tuesdays (20 Sept, 27 Sept and 2 Oct) at the Ohakune Primary School hall at 7.30pm. It
will be conducted by MOT Road Traffic Instructor, Val Gordon, from Wanganui. The fee for the course is $12 per adult and $6 for students ... all welcome. Local Traffic Officer, Graeme Cole, says that initial response has been very encouraging. Whilst fees for the course will be accepted at the door on the first night, he would prefer people to contact him beforehand on OKN 575 so that he can get some idea of the numbers likely to be attending.
