Bottle drive funds Plunket room renovations
The Ohakune Plunket Society raised nearly $500 when they held a weekend bottle drive in Ohakune and Rangataua recently. Plunket ladies and their husbands collected a total of 450 dozen bottles which brought in about $375 for beer bottles and another $100 or so for soft drink containers. The funds are required to
meet the cost of up-dating the Ohakune Plunket Rooms in Goldfinch Street. These rooms, which are shared by the Ohakune Plunket Society with a visiting dentist and a visiting solicitor, required wallpapering and painting throughout. The work was done by^^ local man, James Ennis.
