Sceptic eats hat

Snow-dance sceptic 'Ali' about to eat his hat last Wednesday night at the Ohakune Hotel. He had earlier predicted that if snow fell after the ceremonial 'snow-dance' in Clyde Street the week before he would "eat his hat". It did snow and he was compelled to fulfil his promise. The 'hat' he ate was a confectionery duplicate of the familiar piece of headgear with which he has been associated for the last two years whilst living and working in Ohakune.
