Sunday 7 August: Good conditions for the annual Manson cup against Taumarunui. Played over 27 holes the top 6 ladies and 12 mens scores counted for the match. Best of the winning Waimarino team were: Ladies: M. Brown 1 1 3 V2 , A. Newby WAVi, J. Martin lM'/z. Men: A. Berridge 103, N. Wig-, gins 103'/2, M. Kennedy 108, W. Strachan 108'/2. Top Taumarunui lady was S. Dethiery. Men: P. Keys 107, T. Cadogan \01Vi, J. Greer 112, J. Higgs 114. Two's were scored by J. Palmer, A. Hodges, K. Tapp, J. Logan, T. Cadogan, M. Brown, J. O'Neil (2), D. Herewini, P. Cadogan. In a B Grade Pennants match played on the the Marton course Waimarino defeated Pearce Park 8-4. Waimarino Ladies Golf Wednesday 10 August: lst Par Round Winner: Jan Taylor silverspoon (2 down). 3rd Putting Round Winner: K. Greenwood (32 putts). Two's F. Geraghty. Raffle: Ann Newby. 9 Hole Players: 5th Putting Round winner: D. Winchcombe (17 putts). Three's D. Winchombe.
