The styles of fencing which were available for inspection, proved to be a great talking point for those who attended. Varying from the standard four wire electrified fence through to the more sophisticated insultimber fence. There was also a break feed temporary fence on display. The field day also featured a highlighted and in-, formative discussion with Mr Ernie Ranson of Gallagher Electronics, who covered a wide range of the "do's and don'ts" of erecting an electrified fencing system. Electric fence units (both mains and battery) were discussed with the emphasis being placed on farmers using the right unit for the correct work required from the fence system. In all, the local Waimarino farmer reception to the field was overwhelming and Dalgety's, in conjunction with Gallagher Electronics, wish to assure all those who may have missed this event, that they will be holding another field day in the near future.
