Name change widens scope

Once known as 'Young Wives' the group has recently changed its name to the 'Raetihi Womens Social Group' so that women, other than housewives, may be encouraged to attend. The group meets once a month at a member's home to hear a guest speaker and to enjoy a social evening of conversation and discussion after which supper is served. Last month the meeting was held in the home of Heather Oliver in Orautoha and the chinese meal was provided by Keith and Rowena Kui. Next month's meeting will be held in the Queen Street 1 home of Mr & Mrs Longdon on Wednesday 3 August and the guest speaker will be Ms Glenis Francis the local public health nurse who will be speaking on a subject affecting every family: 'Community Health'. Anyone irtterested in attending what promises to be an enjoyable and inf^A mative evening is asked 'bring a small plate.'
