Scott Callaway, Chief Executive of the Alliance visited Mount Ruapehu last week. On Thursday he held a clinic at Turoa for Stage II instructors and examiners. Instructors came from the ski schools at Egmont, the Chateau and Turoa. Participants worked on improving their own skiing and in particular their techniques on the icy conditions prevailing on the day. Standards for Test International and the annual ski instructors examinations were demonstrated and discussed. In the evening over 70 skiers, mostly local, and some instructors from the Chateau, gathered at the Ohakune Club to watch a film of Interski held in Italy in January. The whole of the N.Z. demonstration was shown, along with those of the major skiing nations and then excerpts from several other nation 's performances. Most of the audience were quick to notice the technical and stylistic differences of the various teams. Thanks go to Turoa Skifields, Scott Calloway, , the local Ski Schools and the Ohakune Club for a successful clinic with the N.Z.S.I.A..
