Flu Winter illness has had a big impact on the children and staff over the last week. Up to 50% of the junior classes have been absent. It seems to be that many different bugs are working in unison. Form 2 Ski Industry Study The following two reports were received from 7-year old Kelda Jane Macrae who visited Eiven's Ski Centre and 7-year old Matthew Reedy who visited Roy Turner's Ski Hire. Last week Room 2 went to Eiven's Ski Shop to watch Mr Seator resole a ski. First of all he resoled it, then he scraped it, sanded it, then he waxed it. Then it was all ready to go back into the ski hire. There were 700 sets of skis and 700 sets of ski poles in the ski hire. We enjoyed looking around/the shop. We saw a video of ski bindings, we « some fantastic skiing. had some biscuits and a k of orange. * * * Last week Room 2 went to see Turner's Ski Hire. We saw a ski bike, 400 sets of skis and 800 ski poles. We enjoyed looking around the ski hire. We went into the ski shop and Mrs Turner showed us the ski boots. We saw how to correctly fit the ski boots. Telethon Fundraising for Telethon was successful with $46.62 being raised through a coppertrail, star wars film, disco and guessing the number of lollies in the jar.
