TIMBER AUCTION

About two thirds of the 220 lots on offer at Timmos Timber auction were sold, according to Winstones development supervisor, Mr Terry Tapp.

The auction of mixed hundles of timber was conducted by Newton King and Dalgetys on Saturday 25 June. Approximately 100 people — of whom about 75 were registered cardholding buyers — attended the auction, which was held at Timmos, Raetihi, in fine

sunny conditions. A few lots of macrocarpa made good prices but generally it was a buyer's market. Many lots went at about half retail. Buyers came from Taihape and Wanganui but most of them were local farmers and builders.
