Ohakune Borough Council 1983 DISTRICT ELECTORS LIST Pursuant to Regulations 8 of the Local Government Enrolment Regulations 1980/9 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the District Electors List for the Ohakune Borough has been prepared and will be open for inspection in the Borough Office, 15 Miro Street, Ohakune. The Roll may be inspected without fee by all interested persons during Office hours from Monday 27 June to Friday 22 July 1983. Any persons may object to the list in writing, under his or her hand, on either of the following grounds: (a) That any person whose name is on the list in respect of any qualification at the time when the objection is lodged. (b) That any person whose name is not on the list and possess the necess^ry qualifications at the time the objection is lodged is entitled to have his or her name inserted. All objections to the Electors List made under Section 79 of the Act shall be in form 3 of the Local Government Enrolment Regulations 1980/9 and shall be lodged with the Council on or before the 22nd day of July 1983 (A copy of this form wilJ be made available, on request.) The Qualifications: which Electors require are: Either: A Ratepayer Qualification - A ratepayer is enrolled automatically if his or her name is shown as 'occupier' on the valuation roll. In the case of joint ownership or partnership, the first stated of the valuation roll is taken to be the ratepayer unless another person is appointed as nominal occupier. Or: A Residential Qualification - This type of enrolment is appropriate for all persons over the age of 18 who have resided in New Zealand for not less than one year and in the Borough of Ohakune for not less than three months. PLEASE NOTE: Even though a name is on the Parliamentary Roll this does not necessarily mean that it will also appear on the roll for the Local Elections. Your own situation may be ascertained through an inspection on the District Electors list. This process is a simple one. Its purpose is to ensure that your capacity to lodge a valid vote, is protected. An enrolment form may be completed, at the Council Office, during normal hours between 9am and 4pm.
