New Planting Season

June 1st marked the beginning of the new planting season for Winstone Afforestation. Planting will continue through to late August on a 607 hectare block near Maungaturoa, down the Pipiriki Road. At a rate of 1,250 pinus radiata per hectare, almost 760,00 seedlings will be planted this season. Ten jobs created A new move is the use of permanent staff instead of outside contractors to do the planting. An additional 10 permanent staff have replaced the contractors making a total team of sixteen.
