WINTER CATTLE FAIR
An unusually small yarding marked Raetihi's annual winter cattle fair. A general shortage of cattle plus a good blend of buyers from Taihape, Marton, Wanganui and locally, produced buoyant prices. All 330 head of stock offered were sold. Better prices in each grouping included: H. GodTey's 13 Friesian bullocks ^£497, R.V. Wilson's 20 ^ronth steers at $358 and F. Robb's 2 yrs heifers at $305. Saies were: Bullocks: a/c H. Godfrey 13 @ $497; a/c Kopia Station 39 @ $400. 20 month steers: a/c R.V. Wilson 30 @ $358, 18 @ $307; a/c F.K. Robb 8 @ $341; a/c T. Punch 21 @ $308, 12 @ $302, 6 @ $250; a/c C. Earl 10 @ $231. 2 year steers: a/c H. Godfrey .7 @ $307. v.i.c. cows: a/c A.S. McGregor 12 @ $272. 2 year heifers: a/c F.K. Robb 10 @ $305. 20 month heifers: a/c G. Olds 15 @ 235; a/c F.K. Robb 15 @ $267, 14 @ $260, 8 @ $230. Weaver steers: a/c C. Earl 15 @ $177, 5 @ $140; a/c F^Caram 30 @ $205, 10 @ Weaner bulls: a/c D. ^wey 9 @ $140. Weaner heifers: a/c F. Karam 23 @ $120.
