RAETIHI EWE FAIR

Last Thursday's Raetihi winter ewe fair saw many stock returned home. Less than half the offering of some 3,000 breeding ewes and 1,000 hoggets were sold. Stock were in good condition and well woolled. Lots that went under the hammer were good value for buyers with store hoggets selling from $19 down

to $4. Among the better ewe prices were: est M.E.Williams, 160 6 tooth ewes, $18; Kim Young, 134 mixed age ewes, $15; W.R. Eaton, 110 5 year ewes, $16.40. Top hogget price went to B. Bishop, with 160 wether hoggets at $19. Hoggets: a/c B. Bishop, 160 wether hoggets, $19; a/c I.Irwin, 88 wether hoggets, $12.80; a/c R.Scarrow, 90 wether hoggets $10.60; a/c R.Wilson, 126 hoggets $10.20; a/c T.
