Yours faithfully, FRED. F. DAY. ELECTION NOTES. Mr Theo. Cooper has been requisitioned by 1029 electors to allow himself to be nominated as a Parliamentary candidate for Auckland. He declined the honour Mr Spencer Von Sturmer has retired from the contest for the Parnell sent, owing to family affliction. Mr J. E Taylor has retired from the contest for Manukau, leaving the fight to Messrs Buokland and O’.Rorke. Mr A. H. Alason received a vote of confidence at Maungakaramea. No amendment was moved. Mr J. M. Shera announces his candidature for Auckland City. Mr John Press, a settler residing in the Kawakawa district, and late member of the Bay of Island County Council, has decided to contest the Bay of Islands seat. He was formerly a resident on. the Northern Wairoa, and always took a lively interest in politics.
