The first Wool Sales of the season in Auckland ■were held on Wednesday, There was a good attendance of buyers including those from the South. The wool w..s in fairly good condition but prices were lower allround than last season. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Son’s wool sale was held immediately after the Loan Company’s, 3 835 bales being offered by Mr A. Buckland seii " The prices accep'ed ranged as follows : Crossbred sjd, sfd, 6jd 7d, 7Jd; merino, s|d ; lor. f wool, 6Jd; bali-br-d, ,dto 7£d, The wool all romi:l averaged about 6Jd per lb. The prices on the whole were Id to per lb lower than last season W irarapa Wreck—The finding of the Court of Enquiry into wreck of Wairarapa blames Captain Mclntosh alone for the loss of the vessel The officers’ certificates are not suspended, though the chief officer is severely censured for his action in connection with the raft he saw floating away The third mate, stewardesses, several of the passengers are commended
