The first half yearly report of the Central Wairoa G-uni diggers’ Local Union as published in our last week’s issue marks an era in the progress of the North which deserves some special comment. We are however, reluctantly compelled to hold over our notes till next week, The copious rains of the early part of the week have been most beneficial to craps and grass, and must have been worth pounds to cultivators. Weather reports from Kaipara Heads are now received every morning at the local post offices. They give the state of the bar and the weather at the Heads for the information of the shippingfraseraitj^
