PAPAROABRASS BAND CONCERT
(From our own Correspondent),
A very successful Concert, under the management of the Paparoa Brass Band, took place in Mr Cliff's Hall on Wednesday evening, October 25 th. The large building was comfortably tilled, residents gathering from the immediate vicinity and surrounding districts in good numbers. The performers acquitted themselves very creditably, and the entertainment was decidedly a great credit to the district. Thanks are due to the ladies and gentlemen who so willingly came, not only from the neighbourhood itself, but from surrounding districts to render assistance. The Chair was occupied by Mr F« Jameson (Maungaturoto), who was apparently the right man in the right place. The full programme was as follows. He explained also that tickets @f honorary membership, price 10/6, could be obtained from him. These, which extend to the 31st April in eaoh year, admit a lady and gentleman, or a lady and two children, or a gentleman with ditto, as the case may be, to any entertainments held by the Band during the year. Persons therefore desirous of furthering the prosperity of the Band, can do so by becoming honorary members in this way, at the same time securing advantages to themselves. The concert concluded with all joining to sing the National Anthem. It is satisfactory to be able to state that the Band is in a sound state financially, having a credit balance on hand.
