We have been compelled to hold over several letters to the editor, but wiU endeavour to work them in next issue. The Aratapu Brass Band concert realised £5. We shall have more to say of this institution in our next issue. Bev. Serpell’s lecture at Aratapu on 6 Bush Life in Australia ’ drew a crowded audience, every seat being filled- The lecturer spoke for an hour and three quarters and kept his listeners’ necks stretched the whole time ; the after criticisms have been most favorable. The reverend gentleman’s lectures and sermons throughout the district have been much appreciated and his visit a decided snccess.
The Aratapu Wesleyan Soiree is now fixed for Thursday, 23rd instant, in order to suit Miss Rimmer who is tosingon that occasion.
Mrs Huett, dressmaker of Mangawhare, notifies by advertisement that she will he in attendance at Aratapu and Te Kopuru once a fortnight to receive ordersClark and Peterson’s entertainment is announced for each of our public halls. The company is now performing at Tokatoka and Matakohe and are really worth seeing. Mr Blaherty is a real wonder, and is as good as anything yet seen in this district ; those who pay for admission will not be disappointed*
