PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with the provisions of Sections 148 of “ The Counties Act 1886” and Sections 15,17 and 18 of ‘‘ The Rating Act 1882 ” : That at the next ordinary meeting of the Council of Hobson County to be held at the Council Chambers Aratapu on Wednesday the 14th day of June 1893, it is the intention of the said Council to make and levy a general rate of six farthings in the £ upon the whole of the rateable property in the Hobson County as appearing in the Valuation Rolls for the time being in force of the Aratapu, Eopuru, Dargaville, Wairoa and Okahu Ridings for the year commenced on the Ist day of April 1893, and ending 31st day of March 1894. The said rate to be payable in one sum to the County Clerk (Horace Hammond) at the Council Chambers Aratapu, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. of Monday the 31st day of July 1593. And further notice is hereby given that the rate book of the said various Ridings will be open for inspection by the public without fee at the Council Chambers during office hours for 14 days preceding the 14th day of June 1893, and all appeals against the Rate Book in conformity with Section 10 of ‘The Rating*Act 1882” will be heard at the said ordinary meeting. OKAHU RIDING, Applications will be received until noon of Wednesday June 14th 1893 for the positions (combined) of Pound-keeper to the Arapohue Pound and Ranger to the Okahu Riding.
