The Wairoa Bell AND Hobson County Gazette. FRIDA Y, APRIL 28th.

Messrs Arthur Gelston and Samuel Dodd hare been Dominated to fill the vacancy in the Hobson County Council caused by the retirement of Cr. H. Berridge ; Mr R. Masefield was pot to be caught by our friend’s butter and blarney. The two gentlemen nominated ore well known to the ratepayers interested, and these are well able to make their choice to suit their own requirements, independent of anything we might urge. Mr Gelston was nominated by the meeting of ratepayers who assembled to hear Mr Berridge’s account of his stewardship. Some persons intended to nominate Mr George Clark, but at the last moment it was found that that gentelman was not eligib'e ; Mr Samuel Dodd was then nominated by Messrs Len Kitcbing and Dodd, Senr. The poll takes place on Thursday next at the Arapohue Hall.
