AUCKLAND RUGBY UNION.
The annual meeting of the Auckland Rugby Union was held in the British Hotel, on Friday evening, when there was a good attendance of players and others who take an interest in the game. Air A. E. Devore, the president, occupied the ehair. The Committee approved of the action of the New Zealand Rugby Union, in arranging for a team from this Colony to visit New South Wales and Queensland. The team will leave for the Australian colonies early in June, and will be composed of twenty players, chosen from the different centres. The following were elected officers for the ensuing year. President, Mr A. E. Devore; vice-presidents, Messrs J, M. Brigham, C. Hesketb, and G. S. Kissling ; Secretary, Mr G. H, Dixon ; treasurer, Mr J. C. Webster : management committee,Messrs W. Ga.rdi.ner, H. Donald F. W. Edwards, T. B. O’Connor, and T. Henderson ; auditors, Messrs T. Macky, junr., and J. Bancroft. It was resolved “ That all presidents, vice-presidents, and honorary members of affiliated Clubs who denote the sum of one guinea to their respective clubs’ funds shall be provided with a pass entitling them to admission to the ground and stand free of charge on ail occasions of inter-club matches with visiting teams from outside the Auckland Rugby Union boundaries. The maximum number of such passes to be twenty-five (25).’ An application for affiliation from the Dargaville-ITskianga Union was granted.
