INDEPENDENT ORDER OF GOOD TEMPLARS.
Mr T. W. Glover’s efforts in this district led on Monday evening to the establishment of a Good Templar Lodge at Aratapu. Twenty-one persons attended and became charter members of the new lodge which it was decided to call “ The Kauri Lodge.” The lodge has decided to meet fortnightly on Mondays, but the place of meeting has not yet been definitely settled. The following officers were elected :—W. C. T., Bro. H. C. Searle; V. T., Sis. E. M Stallworthy; P.O. T., Sis, A. Stallworthy ; L.D., Bro. J. Sheffield ; Chap., Bro. G. W. Davidson; Sec., Bro. G. Elliott; E. S., Bro. Woods ; Treas. Bro. C- Hayles; W.M., Bro. G. W. Smith; D.M., Bro. A. Wordsworth; S.J., Bro. W. Wordsworth; E. D., Bro. T. Nield; Guard, Bro. C. Davidson; Sen., Bro. J. H. Meredith. A vote of thanks was passed to Bro. Glover for his services in connection with the formation of the lodge.
