HOBSON COUNTY COUONCIL.

The ordinary meeting of the Hobson County Council was held in the Council Chambers, Aratapu, on Wednesday, the 18th instant. The Chairman opened the meeting at 10.45 a.m. Present : Crs. A. E. Harding (chairman), Tier ridge, Cobbald, Dargaville, Spiers, and Bassett. r lhe minutes of last meeting were read and approved. Resolved that the special order constituting the Tatarariki Drainage District be confirmed and that the chairman and Cr. Cobbald be appointed to sign the Special Order. Resolved that notice be given that at the next meeting of the Council a separate rate of sixpence per acre will be struck over the Tatarariki Drainage District, for the year ending 31st March, 1593. Resolved that the Chairman, Cr. Cobbald, and the Engineer be instructed to go over Tatarariki Drainage District and report as to what works should bo gone on with this season. The Bank Hew .Zealand Assetts Co. wrote that the Onu block had been leased to Messrs Brown and Mausill who in terms of their lease were responsible for the rates. The Public Trustee wrote asking for duplicate voucher of undertaker’s bill of costs for burial of Shireff.—Forwarded. Commissioner of Crown Lands wrote that he was unable to furnish Council with monthly statements of lands sold as that was the duty of the Commissioner of Taxes. He also supplied information re land acquired by Mr A. Lyon. , Henry Wilson wrote agreeing to allow road to go through Ohautahi block and to sign transfer, if old road be given him. He also asked 10s per acre for having cleared the new road.—Resolved that Mr Wilson be offered £7 for road clearing,
