IN COMPLIANCE with Section i of ‘ The Counties Act ISB6 ’ it is hereby publicly notified that at the next ordinary meeting of the Council of Hobson County to be held at the Council Chambers, Aratapu, on Wednesday the 19th day ef October now next ; it is the intention to present a ‘ Petition ’ signed by more than two-thirds of the owners of land within a certain area (described in the Petition) of the Kopuru Riding, praying : Ist. —-That it is desirable to construct drainage works within such area. 2nd.—That by Special Order such area be declared a Special District to be called the Tatarariki Drainage District. 3rd.—That a separate rate of sixoence per acre be levied in each year over the Special District for three years. 4th. —That the revenue from such separate rate be applied to the execution of the aforesaid drainage works. WHEREAS by Section 25 of 1 The Slaughterhouses Act 1877 ’ it is provided that person to be called ‘ Inspector of Abattoirs and Slaughterhouses and of Cattle intended for Slaughter ’ may be appointed for each Corporate District by the Council thereof, and that pnblic notification of every such appointment shall be made without delay. And whereas such a person has been appointed for Hobson County, a Corporat District within the intent and meaning of the said Act. Now therefore Public Notification is hereby made that in exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in tire Councils of Corporate Districts by ‘ The Slaughterhouses Act 1877 ’ the Council of Hobson County, being the Council of a Corporate District to wit Hobson County, did, at a meeting of the said Council regularly held on the Fourteenth day of September 1892, appoint Horace Hammond of Aratapu, Clerk to the said Council, to be ‘ Inspector of Abbatoirs and Slaughterhouses and of Cattle intended for Slaughter ’ for Hobson County, the said Corporate District.
