NO RTHERN WAIROA AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

The first G-eneral meeting of the above Association was held at Mr Ki telling’s house, Mititai, on Tuesday evening;. The attendance was not large but it was fairly representative, the two sides of the river being about evenly represented. Mr Franklyn Bradley was voted to the chair, and called upon Mr Maurice Harding to read the report of the Committee. Mr Harding read the report and the lr ee ting afterwards proceeded to consider the rules seriatim. This occupied considerable time and several amendments were made. A vote ol thank-; was passed to Mr and Mrs. Hitching for their hospitable accommodation and refreshments, and it was decided to hold the next meeting also at Mititai. A vote of thanks to the Chair brought the meeting to a close. REPORT OF COMMITTEE AS ADOPTED. Report of Committee •>£ Northern Wairoa Agricultural and P;istorai AssociaTon, re rules etc., and your committee have pleasure in submitting the following rules for this Association : 1. Tim Association shall be for the promotion of Agricultural and Pastoral interests and of industries connected with Agriculture generally, and shall be called the Northern Wairoa Agricultural and Pastoral Association. -- The Association shall consist of a President. V io-'- i’resident, Secretary, Treasurer, two auditors and ordinary members. b. Tim management of the Association shall be vested in a Committee of five (5) exclusive of President and Secretary, who shall be ex officio members of s/d Committee. 1. M-anbei aiiip fee shall be an annual subscription of live shillings to he paid upon election and thereat:er payable on the first day of January. •>. All persons attending’ the first general meeting shall become members of the Association upon payment of the annual subscription. Any person wishing- io become a member after the first meetmg’, shall he nominated by one member, seconded by another and his election shall be determined bv the votes of a majority of the members then present. The Committee sh 11 have power to elect honorary members and the annual subscription for same shall he one guinea. G. There shall he an Annual General meeting of the members of the Association to be held on the Thursday ou or before full moon in the mouth of January. General meeting’s may also be hold at such times as the business of the Association may require, to be called and fixed by the Committee. 7. Any member whose subscription is in arrear shall not be entitled to vote at an annual or other meeting of the Association. 8. i JrcLinary rules ol debate shall be adhered to in the proceedings of the Association. 9. The ordinary meetings of the Association shall be held quarterly on the Thursday on or before full mom in the months of January - , April, July and October. Meetings to be held at such place as the Committee may decide and shall commence at 7.80 pan. At each meeting some member shall bring forward a subject for discussion, of which due notice shall be given by the Secretary 10. Ad! voting shall be by shew of hands. 18, The Chairman presiding at any meeting shall have a deliberative and casting- vote. His decision on all questions of order shall be final. IT. When any office is vacated, the Committee -hall elect, some member of the Association to fill the vacancy. 15. The accounts kept by the Treasurer, signed by the Chairman and Auditors shall be laid before the Annual meeiing. id. The Secretary shall keep correct records oi ordinary and Committee meetings. 1i - All payments shall be made bv cheque signed by llie President aud the Treasurer. 18. Shows may be held from time to time as the Association shall determine, 19. The Secretary shall give due notice, not less than seven clear days prior to each meeting. REDDS FOR SHOWS. 1. All entrance foes for exhibits shall be paid to the Secretary at the time of entry. Entries to close seven days before show. Post entries will be received on payment of double fees, up to 9 a.m, of the day of the Show. 2. No exhibit shall be entered in more Dura two classes, and no exhibitor shall enter more than one exhibit in each class. 3. All animal exhibits must have been the bona fule property of the exhibitor at least one month before the Show. 4. All articles exhibited must have been made, or raised by the exhibitor. 5. All exhibits must be in the Show ground not later than 10 a.in. of the day of the Show. G. The Association will not hold itself responsible for loss of, or damag'e to any exhibits. 7. No exhibits to be removed from the Show before -1 p m. unless by special permission of the Committi >o S. Privilege of members’tickets shall be free entrance to Show. 9 The Judges shall have power to withold prizes on account of insufficient merit. : 10. Exhibitors desirous of selling, will be allowed to attach a price ticket to the articles at time of entering and in case of sale 5 per cent shall go to the funds of the Association.
