HELENS VILLE.

An interesting ceremony took place here today (Wednesday). Miss EUie Hands of Makiri was joined in the holy bonds of wedlock to Mr Hugh Poland of Rotorua, at St. Joseph s Church. The very !«ev. Father Paul, V.G.. uncle of the bride, celebrated the full nuptial mass, assisted by Fathers Egan, Uackctt, and Lenihan. The bride, who was dressed in a handsome white satin dress trimmed with Limerick lace, and veil, with the usual orange blossoms, was given away by her grandfather, Mr P. Kavanagh. The bridesmaids. Miss Kathleen Hands and Miss Mary Poland, were dressed in pale pink silk dresses and cream lace. The groomsman was Mr J. PI. Johnston of Tasmania. Miss Alice Eimmer played a wedin e march. There was a very large attendance of friends including a number of guests from town. After the wedding about one hundred guests sat down to the wedding breakfast which was sumptuously provided in the town Hall by Mr W. Downey, and the usual flattering toasts were proposed and responded to, A large nnmber of handsome and valuable wedding presents both useful and ornamental, were on view in the Hall and attracted the admiration of all. The newly married couple left by the evening express train for Auckland to spend their honeymoon at Takapuna, and received quite an ovation on their departure and the usual rice send off.
