MARERETU.

A meeting of the Mareretu school committee was held in the Mission Room this evening. Present—Messrs B T. Birt, J. de. Erneste, A. M, Mcßae and J .F.W. Olsen. The first business was to elect a Chairman and Secretary. It was unanimously resolved that Mr B. T. Birt be reelected Chahrman and Secretary, and that a hearty votr of thanks be accorded him for his services in the past. It was also resolved that Mr. A. M. Mcßae be Treasurer, and that Mr Mcßae and Mr Erneste, be authorised to sign cheques on the school Fund account, A memorandum was received from the Education Board stating thatthe Board had decided to erect a school in Mareretu to accommodate forty childern. It was decided to leave the date of the next meeting in the hands of the chairman.
