DEAR Sir and Brother, We desire to express to you our sincere sympathy in the cowardly, vile, and scurrilous attack on you as our Medical Officer, in the local paper of last week. The writer of this article has so far forgotten himself as to lose sight of the fact, or has wilfully neglected to recognise it, that those who have the mental capacity to recognise the aims and principles of Forestry should be quite capable of electing their Medical Officer. Your skill has been commented on by one who is so narrow minded as to allow petty spite to over ride any good quality he may be possessed of. bub this vile attack will in no way diminish the confidence that has always existed between the Court and its Medical Officer for the many years you have attended and alleviated the physical ailments of its members. You can rest assured, dear Sir, that that confidence which is rightly your due, will al ways be extended to you in the future by those who from time to time can from experience testify to your high medical skill, and we trust, Sir, many years will remain during which we may have the pleasure of extending to you the right hand of fellowship. NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Hobson County Council, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act 1882,” and “The Public Works ActslSß2 Amendment Act ISB9 ” to STOP portions of roads between Sections 45 and S. E. Ft. 67 Parish of Ai'apohue Sections G 8 and 45 S W and SM. "portions of 47 Arapoliue Parish, Sections 68 and N W pt 47 Arapobue Parish, and Section N M pt of 47 and S M and N W portions of 47 Arapohue Parish and to open up another road in lieu thereof, A plan of the portions of roads intended to be STOPPED, (coloured green) and of the road to be opened will be on view at the Council Chambers, Aratapu, and at the Post- Office Mititai, for four weeks from the date hereof. All objections to the STOPPING of the aforementioned portions of roads must be in writing and left at this office within the four weeks aforesaid.
