Upon the presentation of a petition signed by one hundred residents of Eketahuna, requesting that a poll should be taken on the weekly halfholiday, the Eketahuna Borough Council passed a resolution to give effect to the request. The Mayor remarked: “God help us; Pahiatua will get all the trade now.”
