HOSPITAL AFFAIRS.
CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEETING.
The monthly meeting of the Central Committee of the Wairarapa Hospital Board was held yesterday, Mr. E. G. Eton presiding in the absence of the chairman, Mr. W. Fisher. There wore also present: Messers T. V. Moore, S. Bolton, J. C. Ewington and Arch Clark. Apologies for non-attendance were tendered on behalf of Messrs W. Fisher and 11. H. Mawley, who were granted leave of absence.
The treasurer’s statement of receipts and payments disclosed a credit balance at February 28 of £3179 6s lid on general account. Special funds deposited in the Post Office Savings Bank amounted to £2301 Ils Id. The receipts for the month ..of February included: Levies from local bodies amounting to £2265 4s Bc’,- patients’ fees, Masterton Hospital, £283 13s 9d, Greytown Hospital, £55; Pahiatua Hospital, £42 Is lOd; old age pensions, Buc.finan Home, £62 18s 4d; Solway Home, £22 15s.
Accounts totalling £5677 16s were examined and passed for payment.
The following is the return of patients for the month of February: Masterton Hospital, admissibns 61, discharges 71, deaths <?, remaining at end of mouthy 59; Greytown Hospital, -24, 20, 1, 17; Pahiatua Hospital, 27, 24, 2, 13; Buchanan Homo (Greytown Hospital), 1 admission, 1 death, and 29 remaining at end of the month. The daily average number of patients under treatment at the various institutions was: Masterton Hospital, 65; Greytown Hospital, 15; Pahiatua Hbspital, 14; Buchanan Home (Greytown), 29; Solway Home, 12; a total of 135 persons domiciled in the board’s various institutions.
