SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS.
(“The Age” Special). At a meeting of the Greytown I'lunPet Society, it was reported that application had been made to the McCarthy Trust for a donation. A shop day will be held on Friday to raise funds to repay the grant made to the Lady Truby King Fellowship Fund. A donation of £5 was received from the Trust Lands Trust. The nurse reported for the month of February as follows: New eases, 2; breast fed, 2; visits to office, 54 (adults 27, babies and children 27); visits to homes, 32; advice by telephone, 11. Monthly visits were made to Battersea, Ahiakouka and Papawai. Hospital Donations.
The matron of the South Wairarapa Hospital acknowledges the following gifts: Apples, Mrs. W. M. Allen; pears and apples, Mr. Basil Burch; pears, Mrs. H. H. Turton; damsons, Mrs. Drummond; apples, St. Luke’s Harvest Festival; cigarettes and illustrated papers, Mr. Smith (Featherston); illustrated papers, Mrs. Martin. Personal.
Mr. W. Corlett, formerly of Parkvale, left for Sydney yesterday, en route on a visit to the Old Country. Bowling.
In a club pairs match, played on the Carterton green, Thomas and Hughan defeated parber and Churchill by 20 to 18 after a good game.
