AUCKLAND, March. 15.
With the departure of the 'New Zealand cricket team for England only two weeks away, £7841 of the £lO,OOO required to finance the tour by means of shares in New Zealand Cricket Ltd., is in hand. Details of promises received to March 12 are: New Zealand Cricket Council, £500; Canterbury, £4045; Auckland, £901; Wellington, £1119; Otago, £332; West Coast, £5; .Feilding, £59; Wanganui, £53; Hawke’s Bay, £270; Waiapu, £552; Ashburton, £5. The Management Committee of the Auckland Cricket Association, decided to-night to endeavour to increase its quota to £l5OO. E. H. Bowlcy has accepted re-en-gagement as player-coach to th© Auckland Cricket Association for the 192728 season.—(P.A.).
