INITIATIVE WITH AMERICA.
MR. BALDWIN’S STAND.
(Received Friday, 7 p.m.) LONDON, March 10. In the House of Commons, Mr. Bald-* win, in reply to a question, said that in view of the initiative of the United States in connection with the disarmament question, Britain must await the replies of other Powers to President C<»t>?-..ge jf..re t»kin«> action. Captain G. M. Garro-Jones( Lib.) asked: “Must the initiative always rest with the United States? Cannot you take some initiative?” Mr. Baldwin said there might be several initiatives, but the first rested with the United States til! the conference was summoned.-— (A. and N.Z.)
