A Brisbane cablegram reports the death of Dr. H. Youngman, ex-presi-dc-nt of the Methodist Conference. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. John Bannister, of Te Wharau, will regret to hear that their infant son (sixteen days’ old) died yesterday ingThe Rev. W. Beckett will return from Auckland to-day, and to-morrow evening at Wesley Church will speak of his impressions of the Methodist Conference.
The funeral of the lata Mrs. Donald McKenzie, an old and well-known resident of the Wairarapa, took place yesterday. There was a particularly large attendance of mourners from all parts of the district. The Bev. John Davie and the Rev. G. S. King conducted a service at the homestead, ‘‘Woodlands,” Wangaehu, and one at the graveside. A large number of beautiful wreaths were received. The pall-bearers were six sons-in-law of the deceased.
