OBITUARY.

MRS. CATHERINE MeKENZIE. Mrs. Catherine McKenzie, of “Woodlands,” Wangaehu, widow of the late Mr. Donald McKenzie, died yesterday morning. The late Mrs. McKenzie was a Wairarapa resident' of very long standing. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jafries Donald and was born at the Upper Hutt in the year 1856. -She came with her parents to Featherston when a child and had resided in the Wairarapa district an her life. After her marriage to Mr. Donald McKenzie they came to Wangaehu and were among the pioneer settlers of that district. The late Mrs. McKenzie had been in indifferent health for some time past and her death was not unexpected. Of a kindly and generous disposition, she had made many friends. She is survived ■ by a grown-up family of three sons and seven daughters—Mr. Jack McKenzie, “Tepuke,” Mr. James McKenzie, “Mangahina, ” Mr. Donald McKenzie, “Woodlands”; Mrs. R. D. McKenzie, Kopuaranga; Miss Annie McKenzie, “Woodlands”; Mrs. James McGovern, Mrs. Ross Jackson, Wangaehu; Mrs. J. Crozier, Wangaehu, Mrs. C. Ross, Dalefield, and Mrs. H. B. Ward, Wangaehu. One son, Mr. Quinton McKenzie, was killed in the Great War. Messrs. Quinton Donald, Featherston, David Donald, “Pakaraka,” and Allen Donald, Featherston, are brothers of deceased and the surviving sisters are Mrs. Hodder and Miss Donald, Featherston, and 39 grand children, who will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their sad bereavement. The funeral will leave the homestead “Woodlands,” Wangaehu, at 2.30 p.m. to-day for the Masterton cemetery.
