TUHIRANGI RIFLE CLUB.
THE FINAL SHOOT. J. H. TE WHAITI WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. (“The Age” Special.) The final shoot for the various competitions under the auspices of the Tuhiran.gi Rifle Club was held last Saturday in beautiful weather, with the exception that a strong northerly breeze sprang up in the afternoon. At times it blew with hurricane force, which -made it rather difficult for seme of the shooters to And the target. Nevertheless the shooting throughout was of the highest order, Deputy President Te Whaiti and President McDougall putting up a brilliant shoot at the longer ranges. The ranges for the day were ten shots at 300, 500, 600, 800 and 900 yards. Deputy-President Te Whaiti was the winner of the trophy for the best score off the rifle over all ranges, and K. C. Munro for the best handicap score off the rifle over all ranges. T. Gold was also a winner of a trophy.
