PAHIATUA SALE.
f Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., re- ! port:—-We offered a fair yarding of sheep to a good attendance, and have to report a very dragging sale. Prices for all classes of sheep were easier than those ruling at late sales. We made a clearance as follows: Four-year ewes 17/6, 2-tooth. ewes (small) 16/-, 4 and 6-tooth ewes 17/8, 4 and 5-year owes 12/- to 15/-, cull ewes 6/- to 0/-, w.f. lambs (small) 7/-. The W.F.C.A. Ltd. (Stock Department) report as follow on their Pahiatua sale held yesterday: The yarding came well up to advertised numbers, our entry being 3500 sheep, of which 3000 sold under the hammer. Buyers were present from Manawatu, Hawke’s Bay and Taranaki, and most of the entry went to these districts. Included in our entry was a good line of 5-yr. ewes on account of D. H. Rutherford, Makuri, and they made 17s. A small line of 4-th. ewes on account of W. Mitchell made 235. 4d. Sixty-two 4-th. wethers on account of Neill Small made 20s. 9d., other lines at 20s. 4d.; 2-th. wethers at 16s. lid.; b.f. lambs made up to 15s. 10d.; and numerous lines of 4 and 5 yr. ewes, w.f. lambs and b.f. [ lambs sold at late rates.
