MANGAMAHOE SCHOOL PICNIC.

AN ENJOYABLE OUTING. The Mangamahoe School picnic, favoured by ideal weather conditions, was held on Monday at an ideal locality on the property of Miss Heckler, of Mangamahoe. About seventy people attended, and the outing was one of the most enjoyable yet held. The morning was devoted to racing. The competitors were many and the results closely contested. Lunch having been held under the shade offered by some stalwart trees, the girls and younger children indulged in many and various games. A cricket match was played between married and single men, the benedicts winning decisively in spite of creeping years. The proceedings concluded with a distribution of prizes to all scholars attending the school.

The evening was spent by the adults in dancing in the local hall, which was kindly lent for the occasion by Mr. Bray.
