SWIMMING.
MASTERTON CLUB’S WEEKLY MEETING. THE AGGREGATE LEADERS. The usual weekly swimming meeting of the Masterton Swimming Club has been postponed this week until Thursday evening, when the following events will be decided: Men’s 50 Yards, 100 yards handicap, and dive; ladies’ 50 yards and dive; intermediate boys’ 75 yards handicap, and dive; and junior boys’ 25 yards and 50 yards handicaps. Considerable interest will be taken in the gathering, as the aggregate winners of the season will be decided. The aggregate leaders in the men’s section are J. L. Williams, (14 points), R. D. Horne (12 points), D. Welch (10 points), R. Allan (9 points) and J. Gardner (7 points). Miss R. Hart is leading in the ladies’ events with ten points and Miss N. Wallace is second with seven points. In the intermediate boys’ section, J. Barnes (5 points) is heading K. McArtney and R. Devine (4 points each), and in the junior boys’ events M. Bacon (4 points) and G. Orr (3 points) are the foremost. The trophy for the season aggregate is a handsome gold medal, presented by Mr. R. A. Rase, the well-known runner.
