A BOROUGH JUBILEE.
CELEBRATIONS IN PALMERSTON NORTH.
PALMERSTON N., March 3.
The jubilee celebrations were continued yesterday in glorious weather. The procession of decorated vehicles, motors, and trade exhibits was over a mile in length, and was headed by the Mayor (Mr. F. J. Nathan); and a canoe on wheels, in which were seated Natjve warriors and maidens, was among the exhibits. It was followed by a pageant of the early pioneering days, which included a bullock team and wagon, a sledge, pack horses, motor cars, and bicycles of the last century. Crowds thronged the roadways to the Showground, Where the jubilee official opening was performed by the Mayor and Mr. J. A. Nash M.P. The rest of the afternoon was devoted to sports. The crowning of the Jubilee Queen took place last evening.—(P.A.)
