AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
MEETING OF SUB-CENTRE. ACTIVITY AT CARTERTON. A meeting of the Wairarapa SubCentre of the N.Z.A.A.A., was held on Tuesday evening, Mr. W. G. Waterson presiding.. The Nireaha Club’s sports pro; gramme for Easter Monday, was submitted and approved, with a request that the entry fees be reduced to the standard of Is for -each event.
The Carterton Club’s application for a loan from the Wellington Centre to provide increased lighting of their grounds was approved. The secretary reported receipt of the N.Z.A.A.A. handbooks. It was resolved that all clubs and Sub-Centre delegates be supplied with one copy free, and all further copies be charged for at Is per copy. f The Carterton Club applied for March 9 to hold an electric light meeting and submitted their programme for approval. The date was granted aad the approved. It was resolved that if no definite information regarding the lighting of the Park Oval was available by Marell 18, the Sub-Centre district championship meeting be held in Carterton. The president (Mr. AV. G. Waterson) and the honorary secretary (Mr. G. McKay) were appointed a committee to go into the matter of club boundaries and report to a subsequent meeting. The local officer reported favourably on the conduct of the Featherston Club’s sports meeting, lack of knowledge! of the rules on the part of some |of the officials being the only noticeable defect. This would be rectified for future occasions by a supply of rule books.
