A close game was the result of the match at Featherston between Old Hoys (who had only eight men) and Featherston. The weather was dull, and the' wicket moderate. Old Boys opened disastrously, and in quisk succession Gee was run out and 1-allooa bowled off his pads. The third wicket partnership between Dr. Uttley and Law added 80, both batting briskly and confidently, until Law was caught on the boundary by Boesley. Chestennan and Perry carried Old B-oys total to 113, and the visiting side were ail out in an hour with a lead of one run over their opponents.
