LANSDOWNE SCHOOL PICNIC.

EVENT OF THE YEAR. LIST OF ’SPORTS RESULTS, The annual Lansdowne School picnic was held at the Solway Showgrounds yesterday under ideal conditions ,and proved to be one of the most successful yet held by the School. Shortly after 9 o’clock lines of private cars, gaily bedecked with the school colours, left for the grounds and throughout the day there was not an idle or an unhappy moment. After the races, the prizes were presented by Air. D. A. Pickering (chairman of the committee) who thanked all those who helped to make the picnic such a successful one. Special mention was made of a large and energetic committee of ladies under the direction of Mesdames Noble and Pither. Thanks are also due to* Mr. Ninncs who presented a watch for the boys’ senior championship, Air. Pither, an ebony mirror for the girls’ senior championship, Air. Tirnson a medal for the boys’ mile, Mrs. E. Williams, toys, Air. Dickens, cash for various events. The following were the officials:— Supervisors, Alcssrs D. A. Pickering, J. Noble; starters and handicappers, Messrs. A. C. Cameron, E. Welch; judges, Messrs. J. P. , Cooper, H. J. Winter, AV. Ingram, W. Hope, Misses Frown, Sellar, Tankersley, Hall, McGrath and Russell.
