P.A.T.A. INQUIRY.
FURTHER EVIDENCE HEARD.
WELLINGTON, February 23.
The committee set up by the Government to inquire into the proposed .operations of the Proprietary Articles Trade Association, resumed its sittings this morning. Further evidence from the organiser of the P.A.T.A. was heard; also evidence from Mr. J. P. Page, representative of Potter, Birkes & Co., London, and fuom Mr. A. G. Carey, grocer, Oamaru.
The inquiry is occasioning a good deal of interest amongst the parties concerned. It is probable that the taking of evidence will occupy all this week. Some evidence from Christchurch and Auckland witnesses will be tendered towards the end of this week.—• (P.A.)
