PINEDO’S FLIGHT.
DELAY AT CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.
ROME, February 20.
The Italian aviator. Marchese de Pinedo, who is attempting to fly from 'Europe to South America and back, via North America, and who reached Bulama, in Portuguese Qtiinea, West Africa, retraced his course northward back to Cape Verde and flew from thence to the Cape Verde Islamds, intending to make Praia, a port in the islands his starting point for the long crossing to Brazil. Ho was expected to make a start for the trans-Atlantic flight to Pont Natal, Brazil, at 11 o’clock, but was unable to take off ewing to the excessive load of fuel earned for tho journey. He expects to make another attempt to-day.—(A. and N.Z.). A URUGUAYAN COMPETITOR. ROME, February 20. The Uruguayan aviotor, Major Larra Bordes, has departed from Pisa for Malaga, on the first stage of a transAtlantic flight along the same route as De Pinedo.—(A. and N.Z.) AN ISOLATED SPOT.
