“DETECTOR."
On Friday evening IYA relayed the civic reception accorded the Prime Minister at Auckland. Every word from the speakers was hoard by the writer most distinctly and fading was hardly discernible, while static remained practically absent. A beginning has been made in the erection of the new Wellington station and it is hoped that it will be ‘‘on the air” in the course of a few months. The volume from the Australian stations, 2BL and 2FC, has been remarkably good of late. At intervals on Saturday evening descriptions of the motor-cycle racing at the Royal Speedway were broadcasted from both of these stations and the roar of the machines as they passed the transmitter was most deafening and increased in volume as the evening w r oro on. Reception from the Brisbane station has been very patchy lately and at times is hardly audible. On last Tuesday evening- the Sydney station 2GB, came in well with plenty ef volume.
