DOMINION PRODUCE PRICES. HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner, cabling on February 19, advises the Department of Agriculture as follows:—

Butter.—New Zealand and Australian market quiet; Argentine steady, and present quotations as follows:— Finest New Zealand, 172/- to 17/6- per cwt.; other qualities, 164/- to 166/-; unsalted, 182/- to 184/-; Australian, 164/to 168/-; other qualities, 152/- to 162/-; unsalted, 168/- to 72/-. Argentine: Unsaltcd, 156/- to 160/-; other qualities, 150/- to 154/-. Danish: 192/- to 194/-

Chccse. — Colonial market quiet. Official quotations are:—English: Finest farmers’, for which demand is good, 112/- to 116/- per cwt. (1/- to l/Oj per lb). Canadian: Coloured and white, 98/- to 100/- (10£l “to other qualities, 94/- to 96/- (lOd to 10|d). New Zealand: Coloured and white, 91/to 92/- (9|d to 9|d). Australian: Coloured, 90/- (9Ad).

Tallow.-—Nq action this jyeek, owing to quiet state of market. Prices nominally unchanged. Eggs.—Small arrival of new-laid, but market quiet owing to high prices. Present quotations are: English and Danish, 27/- per long 100; Italian and Belgian, 17/- to 18/6; Polish and Egyptian 8/9 to 13/-.

Hemp.—Manila market easy. “J” grade, February-April shipments quoted £43 10/- value. Sisal market quiet and steady. Tanganyika and Kenya No. 1 August, quote £4O value, No. 2 £39. Buyers’ idea .10/- to 20/- per ton less. Now Zealand market continues dull but steady. January-March and February-April shipments, highpoints, £36 and fair £35.

Wool.—Bradford market quiet. Still only gradual increase in business. Prices for tops remain unchanged. 64’s (merino), warp, 3/11, average 3/10; 56’s (super halfbred), 2/9; 50’s (fine crossbred) 2/2; 40’s prepared, 1/71.
