AN APPRECIATION.
GOOD WORK AT MOUNT HOLDSWORTH.
(To the Editor).
Sir, —Strolling through the beautiful bush on the lower slopes of Mount Holdsworth, I came across four men, with coats and vests off, toiling hard, but cheerfully on the construction, of a bridge. A little further on was another bridge they had recently finished “fit for the Duke to cross over.”
These were four generous-minded, patriotic men, who for the lore of the beautiful and that their felfcws might have most ready access to this part of “God’s Garden” were giving up their Saturday afternoon in this splendid service. I could not but congratulate them, on the good work they are doing.
These and others like them have already greatly improved, the road to the Mount and made it possible for picnic parties to enjoy themselves with many conveniences amid ideal conditions. When last I visited this delightful spot, the swing bridge was a thing to be feared. Now it is a joy to negotiate-L--may the vandal keep at a distance. I pass on this word of appreciation and say again 11 Thank you, men” for the good work you are doing. Your fellow citizens are grateful, I am, etc., — “ONE OF THEM.”
