A fire broke out at 1.45 p.m. yesterday in the furniture factory of Charles Uddstrom, Gre.ymouth. It gained rstrong hold and'assisted by the wind spread rapidly until the rear portion of the factory containing the workrooms was a mass of flames. Denso clouds of smoke hampered the efforts of the firemen. After half an hour’s strenuous effort, the brigade, with the assistance of five leads of hose, got the outbreak under control. Uddstrom’s shop and workrooms were gutted and Moss and Co’s large store adjoining was considerably damaged, mainly by water.—(P.A.). “DON’T LAT IT”—SAYS COMEDIAN. Recently a well-known comedian when in Auckland gave a friend who was husky a small pastille. “Don’t eat i it, don’t cat it, just suck it,” he said in his characteristic way. The friend experienced a wonderful clear voice after that. Pulmonas can be depended upon to give a clear singing voice. They also relieve coughs and colds.*
