An inquest into the death of Percy Sidney Timms, whose body was found by a fisherman in the Waimakariri River on Monday, was concluded at Christchurch yesterday. The evidence of a brother of the deceased was that Timms had been in a depressed state of mind recently owing to ill health, but had given no indication that he might commit suicide. He had, however, left a letter to his wife, in the pocket of a waistcoat which he took off before entering the river, which told his intention to taka his life. The verdict was that deceased met his death by drowning whilst in a depressed state of mind.—(P.A.). A LITTLE FORETHOUGHT. A little forethought may save you no end of trouble.
